SCSS/Parallax/Bootstrap

These couple of weeks we have spent learning about SASS/SCSS, Parallax technique, and a little bit on Bootstrap. All three are very interesting and useful, probably Bootstrap is less useful among them, but still quite cool to learn about.

Week 10 Responsive design

In this past week we have been diving into responsive design by using media query’s.

This week has been a challenge for all of us. It also showed me my strengths and weakness a bit more.

More Responsive mobile first design!

Well this week has been fun! I actually enjoyed the challenge of changing the design features based on screen width.

Week 9 & 10 – Responsive Web Design

We have been practicing responsive web design with the Sacramento Writer’s Group and the Zen Music Festival challenges. As expected, they were quite challenging!

Okay, so that’t not really a question. Clearly, in these times of digital life we need to have responsive design.

Getting Through The Challenges

These past two weeks have just been like the title says, challenging. We practiced by going through the challenges by using a mobile first approach. The main approach and learning process for this part of the semester was mainly getting through the challenges.

Week 10

These last two weeks I’ve learned a lot about designing for mobile as well as other screen sizes as well.

Responsive Design

Response design is getting more important every day. Users expected more efficient, faster with clear information and navigation.websites that have consistently on all of their devices. I found the first mobile approach more efficient and so much easier to do.

Applying Responsive Design

This is such a full week! Finishing responsive design for the Sac Writers group and the Zen Music was quite a challenge and we aren’t even done with the actual design yet! It takes such great amount of patience and re-editing, googling and re-editing.

The Challenge…

I can’t believe we are already finishing up week 10. We’re almost finished with the semester. Honestly, it feels like we just started. It’s definitely been an adjustment going from an in-class learning environment to a completely online classroom.

Getting responsive

Last week we learned about media queries and responsive techniques and I really think it’s important to know and use them. These days we get a lot of traffic from tablets and even phones, mostly from phones, in my opinion. Just a couple of decades ago it was a completely different picture, but now we have to think about mobile users first. And this is cool.

MidTerms Week

This week was filled with goodies like exams essays and projects

Mid-semester overwhelm

The past few weeks have felt even busier than normal. Probably because midterms take so much brainpower! 😅 Since the last time we posted in the Learning Journal, we have practiced more with the layout techniques, learned about responsive design, and wrapped up our midterm project.

MIDTERMS

I cannot believe midterms is here already! I think I’ve been so busy just focusing on the next step I didn’t realize how much time has passed. I really enjoyed the peer reviews and the breaks in between allowed a fresh perspective every time I went in to redesign my layout.

Week 9 and midterms

This week has been pretty long. I have been working on all my classes and just started an eight week class.

Flexbox & Responsive Design

These last two weeks I’ve learned more about Flexbox and I also learned about responsive design.

New Concept and Finishing Mid-Terms

Hello once again to a journal entry! Today on the news, AAD 86’s students have been busy doing their mid-terms while balancing other classes and learning new cool concepts on the web and design. Failure, Frustration, Acceptance the week 8 saga. . .

These last two weeks have been very challenging for me. While I am learning that there is so much variety in creating a webpage layout, making images and text go into specific boxes, or arrangements.

Responsive Design

I really enjoy these last two weeks. Most of the time when I learn something from a mistake it is more effective and I learn an obvious rule of cascade for stylesheet when working on a concentric website.
