Journey Through Italy

Friuli-Venezia Giulia

This northeastern region is bordered to the south by the Adriatic Sea and is very unique. Its northern highlights are the Dolomites, a group of mountains in the far-eastern Alps. The rest is a mix of deep valleys, ancient villages and battlegrounds from the First World War.

Trieste

The entire Trieste region is home to a number of medieval castles and nature reserves. The city itself is a mix of Venetian and Austrian influence, with major attractions like San Giusto Castle and La Piazza dell'Unita d'Italia.
