Hello Everyone again! It has been refreshing getting back into coding and retouching on my typography knowledge! For this post, I will talk about how my learning progress has been from the past two weeks!
I’ve always loved working with CSS within HTML. I love the idea of designing within technological software and especially in coding. Back when I first learned about CSS in my first computer science course, that’s around the same time I learned my passion for web design! It’s also what put me on the path to wanting to become a UI Designer! 🙂
As for typography, I’ve been both relearning and digesting some new information on the subject. I believe I’ve learned about typography at least once in every design course I’ve ever taken really. This is not to say it’s “boring” or “dull” but rather it really helps solidify my knowledge on the subject. Learning how to deal with type in design is crucial when it comes to successfully communicating the right message(s) to your audience.
From the articles this week, I really enjoyed the ones that not just explained what typography was by definition, but instead displayed typography within the article or through a game or something interactive/fun. For me, that’s a really beneficial way to get me to pay attention and really ingest the information I’m observing.
