This week has been an eye opener! It never occurred to me how many different ways are out there to achieve the same layout on a page, and it has been really interesting learning about all of them.
I will admit I have been really struggling with the Sacramento/Zen assignments. I am not a fan of working from a mobile-first standpoint for responsive design. I find it much easier to start at my end goal, have everything thought out, and compress the layout from there. I find that then, I have all my important elements where I want them, and it’s easier to move them around knowing what I want the big picture to look like and convey.
However, it is always good to push yourself, try new things, and find out which ways work best for you. I think it is important to learn and know all the ways to achieve your end goal, even if you end up doing it a different way most of the time. Every project is different, and overall, I am glad we are trying it from a different starting point.
