Responsive design and mid term project!

I was very excited for the mid term project since it’s always a great chance to get out some creativity!

For the mid term project, I choose to do a website for a band’s new album. I wanted to challenge myself a bit and try to match the theme of the album. A way that I did that was with color. Bright red is very difficult to work with and to match the theme of the album I thought that would be the best choice. I also used a slight gradient that isn’t too noticeable, but I think it does a lot. I wanted to do more to the background, but I couldn’t really come up with anything that wouldn’t be distracting. While working on the projects, I kept feeling like something was “off” but once I finished, Figma has an option to view it on a device (the picture above) and when I was it on there, I realized that was the problem! Overall after seeing it on there, I’m very happy with how it turned out!

The lecture this week on responsive design was very interesting and I loved seeing all the techniques in action instead of just reading them, that helps out a ton! I was also interested with the history part. That stood out to me too, and I love seeing how websites were designed back then and where technology was.
