Adapting with CSS

It can be crazy to think about now, but computers used to be the only device we used to access the web. There was hardly a need to consider screen size when creating a website. Now we have smart fridges with internet access.

I remember many times accidentally clicking the internet button on my flip phone and anxiously pressing the exit button hoping my parents were not going to get a charge. Now most people reach for their phone when needing to look something up. The beginning days of smart phones and website were a bit rough, with many businesses not considering how their website showed up on mobile devices. By now, most websites have been adapted for the smaller screen size. Learning how this is done this week was very interesting. I remember putting media queries in our code last semester but going more in depth on it this week made things click a bit more.

Learning border-box was also interesting, and definitely a useful tool to have. Not having to consider padding and border on top of the content is life-changing. I will likely use both the border-box and image max-width reset rules and regular part of my code. We are so lucky to have the tools we have now in CSS.

I really enjoyed working on the midterm project. Nothing gets me as focused as a fun, creative project, especially on a topic I like. I felt really good about how it came out and will likely use that design for my final project.
