Starting Strong with Semantics

During our first two weeks into this class, I already have a better understanding of HTML and how strong it is.

Writing a resume without being able to use CSS was surprisingly challenging. I had a strong urge to add styling elements to make it look the way I wanted but instead had to be more intentional with the code I could use. Not only to make the formatting look correct but using code that made sense with its content. Using the MDN website was a huge help for this.

Taking a deeper dive into HTML gave me a better understanding of this as well. Different tags are specifically intended for different purposes. Headers are going to read semantically different than text with emphasis and a larger size. This is also important for search engine optimization. I already know I will be referring to the MDN frequently.
