Over the last couple weeks, we were introduced to the float model and refreshed ourselves on the flexbox model. We also began our introduction to grid layouts.
We started by learning the float model, which is a simple way of moving elements either left or right. We practiced styling some simple pages. Then we reviewed flexbox, which is a way of positioning elements as they relate to the width and height of the screen. I also used the Flexbox Froggy site to practice simple flexbox exercises, and it really helped me to better understand how flexbox works with instant visual feedback.
Lastly, we began our introduction to grids. This concept was fairly easy for me to understand, and we practiced using a few different methods to achieve desired looks.
Additionally we began to look at our midterm assignment. We will design a ‘microsite’ and create layouts for different screen dimensions. I am excited to practice applying what I’ve learned!
