SCSS/Parallax/Bootstrap

These couple of weeks we have spent learning about SASS/SCSS, Parallax technique, and a little bit on Bootstrap. All three are very interesting and useful, probably Bootstrap is less useful among them, but still quite cool to learn about.

CSS is a very powerful thing when it comes to styling a webpage. Although it develops quite fast, some features are still missing. So the SCSS with SASS are here to help! They provide some cool features to the good old CSS, without taking away the simplicity of it.

Parallax effects are cool, yet quite hard to use properly. I like the fact that things are scrolling at different speeds, but one should be careful using it since it easily becomes distractive.

Bootstrap is also quite nice in certain situations. I suggest using (or copying) its features for responsive design. Bootstrap documentation can be also used as a general guide for web design. But I’d not recommend using it for your website, since it’ll look too generic. The bootstrap is sort of a template that nobody cares to edit. It’s also a little too big of a stylesheet for users to download without a reason, although they probably already have it in their cash memory.

And, by the way, it’s almost the end of the semester! Holly something! That explains why I feel so tired of everything and want to get some rest 😀
