Per expectations, the content has definitely ramped up in difficulty. These past few weeks have definitely been challenging, but thankfully I’ve been able to enjoy the challenge rather than get overly frustrated over it.
I think my biggest challenge these last few weeks have actually been balancing my assignments with my personal life. I had a few things pop up that made my assignments get pushed to the back burner, so trying to do the assignments while simultaneously trying to understand them in short periods of time has definitely been difficult.
In week 9, we were given two websites to recreate. We were provided with images of what it should look like, the basic layout of the HTML, and the start files. From there, we needed to develop the website from a mobile perspective rather than a desktop perspective. In week 10, we then took those mobile-based designs and added media queries to them that allowed them to be reformatted for tablet and desktop views.
I actually had an easier time adding the tablet and desktop sizing rather than building the website itself. Aside from not having much time to actually do the mobile CSS (and originally misinterpreting the assignment), I still find it challenging to create a good foundation with CSS that will allow things like flexbox or flex grid to work. Since I was able to rework my mobile CSS, therefore giving it a stable foundation, it was a lot easier to move forward with the other screen sizes.
Once I have the time to do so, I definitely want to take another stab at the Writers and Music Festival pages myself again. I want smaller details like rotating the text or bigger details like positioning to come more naturally to me, and that will only happen if I practice more.
