Is the Semester Halfway Over or Halfway Begun?
The past few weeks of AAD86 have been pretty smooth. It was fun to work through the stages of the midterm project, and I had a lot of fun finalizing my design. The first taste of responsive design was interesting. I think things are going to get a little more complicated moving forward with that. The introduction of indenting in CSS is a little scary since it seems like things can get really messy really fast.
Expanding on the midterm project, I believe that I started with a strong rough draft so I was able to easily change it as the weeks went on. The peer reviews I received from others in the class were very helpful. I’m glad I was able to get critiques from the professor as well. I am happy with how my final design ended up. For a design, it is still pretty simple, but I had a lot of fun creating the images for it. I’m starting to think that I have no real interest in designing, but just coding itself.
As for the responsive design and complicated CSS rules using @media…I am excited to expand my knowledge. I believe the next few weeks will be crucial for creating web pages and content that work on a myriad of devices. Accessibility and usability are important values to me when I am creating anything, especially web pages. I am definitely excited about the remaining eight weeks of the class! I hope to learn a lot.
