Diving Into New Concepts

In the past two weeks, we have shifted our focus from review to some new concepts that I was not quite familiar with. We dove into two different types of layout that I have never used before.

We reviewed flexbox and floats, which I had some experience with in previous classes. I was less familiar with floats, but I found it to be pretty easy to fill the gaps that I had forgotten.

We then did challenges that had to do with positioning. I didn’t learn positioning in my previous classes, so this was a new concept for me. I struggled quite a bit when it came to the challenges, but I was eventually able to figure it out. I had to re-read the slides a lot and experiment in order to get a grasp of how I should do it.

The next new concept was grids. I found it a bit easier to understand than positioning, though there were a few points that I messed up and had to figure out how to fix my error.

I’m not confident in grids or positioning yet, but I’m hoping to practice and expand my knowledge of them as time goes on. They seem like good options for my CSS in the future.
