I felt like Dorothy these last two weeks, being swept up in a tornado of floats, flexbox, and grid challenges. Watching the instructional videos, and then working along with the videos, worked for the most part. But something went akimbo when trying to put what I learned to the challenges.

Nothing, seemed to work. Seriously. I’m glad to see these two weeks are over. I did learn quite a lot though. Like- there are options when organizing content on a page.
Now onto the mid-term project, that seems too soon. I’m biting my nails as I scramble to figure out, and pray that I can make work what I want to do. High hopes. I want to overlap things, and gradient imagery, and make type sit on top of a background. Connect the page with navigation links, and put in a call-to-action form. Wow! The most interesting thing is that I’m now starting to dream, and see finished webpages.
I imagine that Dorothy in that tornado, was just hoping it would stop and she and Toto, would get safely balanced on the ground. Never did she realize that she’d be plunked into a whole new world. On the horizon is Oz, and that she would have to get to it, in order to go home. That along the way she would collect three new friends, and she’d help them become whole. My new friends are floats, flexbox, and grids, and like Dorothy the longview is the three levels of design, the last and topmost Oz. The motion graphic webpage in the Emerald City.
