Yes, I am a fan of these learning journals, and yes, I contradict myself because I often find myself forgetting to do them… However, I’ll go over the last few weeks of class!
I’ve loved all these classes. I’ve done all 4, starting with Natalie and ending with Bill. It’s been fantastic, challenging, and fun. It’s been hard and really, you put some blood, sweat, and a few tears, into figuring everything out. Once you do though, it’s so rewarding.
I’ve met friends in this class that I hope to last decades and I know some of them want to do website design as careers. I don’t think that I’ll have quite as much involvement with that in my career, but I have these skills and THAT is something that differentiates myself from others in marketing.
I learned things I’ve genuinely wanted to know how to do and I’m very happy to be able to now be able to do them!
We went through how to truly customize your WP site by creating different pages and creating categories that filter into any place you choose to place certain posts. The author page and the magazine site were VERY interesting to do!
We revisited Javascript and jQuery and mixed that with WordPress which I found to be VERY cool! So much easier than I would have thought. Learning loops is crazy! Just thinking about what you’re actually doing is so awesome.
Learning bootstrap and the different plug ins for WordPress went beyond my knowledge and I LOVE entering those places. With Bill guiding us through I knew I’m adding to my skill set WHILE having fun! We learned so much and I think that’s why the semester moved so quickly, but I loved every minute of it!
