Since the last time I wrote on the blog, we practiced getting acquainted with page builders and started to learn php 🙂
On Thursday of week 5, Bill let us experiment with different page builders to get a feel for it. I had already been using Elementor so I decided to try Themify. The experience was less than exciting since the functionality is similar to that of Elementor but the interface is not as good. Still, it was good to give it a try.
Week 6 started with php right away and we spent the whole class period on Tuesday and Thursday working with .php examples that Bill uploaded to Canvas. The examples were simple so in the beginning, it was difficult to grasp the functionality of php and why it is important to learn it, but I knew it was important because that’s the programming language WordPress uses to display its sites.
I am excited to keep learning php and implement it on WordPress when we start makig our own themes. Oh! We have our midterm project due on Thursday as well… And we’ll probably have our midterm exam sometime this week, yay! ?
