The more I learn WordPress, the more I like it…
Week 3 was about diving into WordPress. A good start for this was moving WordPress from one URL to another. Well, the process seemed a bit confusing first, but after trying it a few times, it didn’t seem so bad. And I do believe moving WordPress a bunch of times will definitely help to get it (especially, with the slides that guide through every single step).
The fun continued with building a website for a café. Since one of the hardest part, gathering and creating a content, was provided, I could focus more on customizing the theme and getting know WordPress better. Overall, building a website in WP is much easier than coding it from scratch. However, customizing the theme by adding additional CSS rises a lot of questions (as always:-)).
Week 4 started with practicing moving WordPress, and I’m so glad we could do this again. Before the Tuesday class, I was trying to restore my website, but for some reason, it didn’t work. While practicing in class, I could figure out what was wrong (hooray!). Then I decided to go further and try to link my new domain (I finally purchased it!) to hosting and then fix all the projects’ domains. Well, it was definitely a good week! And the highlight of this week was our guest speaker, Tirzah Johnson. Oh, my, it was awesome! I learned so much about WooCommerce and Shopify and got so many marketing tips!
Can’t wait to learn more about WordPress!
