I really enjoyed spending some time understanding how the whole installation happens on the backend. Since I had only used hosting platforms that allowed the “one-click” installation and had never had an issue with it, I hadn’t tried to use an FTP client to check on it. I also learned that as long as you install WordPress in a different folder, you can have as many installations in one domain as you’d like. I also enjoyed learning about the manual installation and how to create a database to “house” the installation. Not sure if “house” is the right word here, but anyway…
I also learned that once you purchase hosting from a company you can add as many domains as you want to that little corner of their server. I had no idea! I actually feel bad because I realize that I had a client pay for two hostings when I could’ve added their second website to the first hosting I purchased for them. Oh, well…
