This week was a little bit crazy for me…
but overall, I pulled through. Been having a lot of health issues and had to leave class early Thursday due to them and before we got to the fun flippy stuff. So, that was a bummer. But overall health is more important. I am super excited for our midterm project and have been LOVING looking at so many photos and ways to design an amazing landing page. Hopefully, I can bring it to fruition. This class has been a challenge for me because I really love making things pretty. And coding isn’t pretty. It’s just not. When you’re on the back-end, you’re not in charge of making things pretty. You’re in charge of making things work. That has been a struggle for me to understand in this class. Once I got over the fact that I wasn’t here to make things pretty, I am here to make things work and learn WHY they work, it’s been better for me. As a designer, you have to fill many shoes and roles. Making something look good is only one of those roles. While some people make a career of this, in today’s world it’s unrealistic to think you can have a job only making things look nice. I’m grateful for the people who made me realize that this class is much more than that! BUT, I am super excited to make something work with code, and design it to make it look good/function well, too! Here’s to working my butt off to perfect the imperfect.
