I wanted to make this post as an introduction to where I started learning HTML and CSS properties. I know most of us had made given a brief background into their HTML and CSS history in their discussion posts, but I thought it would be great if everyone replied to this post with a more in-depth look into your stories and why you decided to continue to learn this subject.
I started learning about HTML and CSS when MySpace was a popular website during the early 2000s. I thought it was really fascinating how you could manipulate the profile with bits of code. At the time, I didn’t know what they were called, but I absolutely loved being able to change the appearance of the website and adding little tweaks here and there. I could hide sections, add music, videos, animations, and so on. It was a way for me to be creative without having to put as much time and effort. It was also easy for me to understand. I was in middle school, I believe, since I learned about HTML and CSS. It was always something I would mess around with and found interesting, but it wasn’t a subject I necessarily wanted to pursue.
Years later, I never thought I would actually pursue this during my collegiate career. It was always something fun for me. However, with the way technology is going, I thought it would be beneficial to chase after it and as a means to supplement my major. At the moment, I am aiming for a Graphic Design Bachelor’s Degree with a certificate in Web Design. However, I want to eventually want to pursue something further than a certificate either in experience or in education. I’m actually hoping to eventually apply for internships as I learn more in the Web Design field. Anyways, this is why and how I came across HTML and CSS. I hope to read some of your stories!
