Week 8 – Thinking Beyond the Screen

This week, we explored responsive web design and the mobile-first approach. What stood out to me was how much thoughtful planning goes into making a website work well across different devices.

I learned that responsive design isn’t simply about resizing elements. It’s about understanding how layout, readability, and usability change depending on the available space. I found the mobile-first approach especially interesting because it encourages designers to focus on essential content before adding complexity.

It was also interesting to see how concepts we’ve already studied, like Flexbox and Grid, come together in responsive layouts. I’m starting to understand web design less as a collection of separate techniques and more as a process of solving practical problems.

My goal is to become more confident making layout decisions independently and writing cleaner, more efficient CSS. This week reminded me that good design isn’t just about appearance, but about creating a consistent and intuitive experience for users.
