With the concentration on the tools of spacial design, we worked with positioning, floats, flexbox and grids.
With positioning we learned the four stipulations and how to code them:
- Static
- Relative
- Absolute
- Fixed
We compared and contrasted Float, Flexbox and Grids surveying options with regard to spacial design of objects, blocks, containers, images, semantic markup like headers, footers, the html body, sections and the like. IDs and Class were also considered and the efficacy of their use relative to the positioning tools – Float, Flexbox, and Grids. We had exercises in substituting one tool for another exclusively in css. This was a good exercise because it encouraged us to further understand the power of css.
We also began work on our mid-term project, employing the integration of design and function with our newly acquired coding tools.
