Trekking Tahoe

A visual journey of outdoor activities you can enjoy when visiting Lake Tahoe

Snowshoeing

When people think of Lake Tahoe winter activities, they think of skiing. But what if you want to avoid crowds or an activity that is similar to hiking, then snowshoeing might be for you.

Places to go

If you are looking for views of Lake Tahoe, then head north of South Lake Tahoe on Highway 89 to Camp Richardson. There you will find several beaches to snowshoe on.

Another great place to snowshoe is in Meyers, at the Tahoe Paradise Park, where you can snowshoe along the Truckee River.

If you are looking for a place that is off the beaten path, then give snowshoeing around Hope Valley where you can snowshow along the banks of the West fork of the Carson River. The views of the surrounding mountains is spectacular.
