Yellowstone was America's first National Park and it has been popular for 150 years! Yellowstone is home to many hot springs and geysers, making it a very unique place to visit. At Yellowstone, you spend most of your time driving around the park and taking in all the sites.....there is a ton to see!
It almost goes without saying that Yellowstone is one of the most visited National Parks so preparation and reservations are key! For camping, I recommend reserving your spots early or you can go on a last minute trip and find some campsites that have been cancelled on the website. This is how I went in June 2022, I searched the website for each campsite and pieced together an itinerary based on cancelled reservations. In addition to the campsites within the park, there are also a ton of options outside the park.
There is nothing like Yellowstone, there is literally steam coming out of the earth everywhere and a ton of roaming bison. The hot springs can reach over 200F in tempurature so you definitely don't want to be jumping in for a swim. Make sure to read up on Yellowstone before you go so you are educated in how to have a safe trip. There are bears, scalding hot pools of water and teritorial bison to keep your distance from. As long as you respect Yellowstone, you will have an amazing time!
