Coastal California Highway 1

Highway 1 runs along the coast of California right beside the ocean. It has windy twists and turns so it is not a super highway, it is the ultimate scenic route.There are so many places to stop along the way and enjoy the view. Seeing California's coast via Highway 1 really shows you the majesty of the ocean.

There are several campgrounds along Highway 1 but as you can imagine they can get very popular. Make sure to research ahead of time and make a reservation if you can because these beautiful campsites book up fast! It also gets pretty cold along the ocean, even in the summer, so be sure to come prepared!

Another thing I love about traveling along the ocean is all the wonderful seafood to try! Make sure to pick up a fresh piece of fish and cook it on your campfire! Don't forget the s'mores!
