Oscar Wilde

    Oscar Wilde was an amazing writer. Most notably what people remember about him is his great sense of humor. I read his play, The Importance of Being Earnest, while I was a student at Université de Marseille III in the South of France.

     I could not set the book down. It was entertaining and fun. What seems to make a difference among great writers is not only that they have the skill but that they could go beyond it and express who they truly are. I wonder what inspired him to write this work.

Rene Descartes

      Although Rene Descartes is not a novelist, his philosophy carries great influence on my work. I was thirteen when I first started reading him, and ever since, I continue to respect his work. When I read Meditations on First Philosophy I realized that it was the first time that I ever agreed with someone on almost everything.

       And it blew my mind to think that we both had come up with similar views of the world, even though he had written the work nearly four hundred years before my time. I just couldn’t believe it. I love how he pulled himself apart in order to put himself back together philosophically. It is when we have nothing that we come to understand everything. What is Lorem Ipsum?
