Delayna's Two Pet Cats

About Bradley

How I Found Bradley

It was late one night in June of last year. I heard a kitten meowing in my front yard and I had to go find where the sound was coming from. It took me a few minustes to find him but there he was, a tiny black and white kitten, hiding in the bushes looking back at me. He was so scared. He was pretty small and was around 6-8 weeks old. I couldn't catch him and he stopped meowing so I figured he had went back to find his mom. The next day I was at work and had gotten a text message from my mom saying that she had caught the kitten. I was so excited I coudn't wait for my shift to be over so I could go home and meet the kitten. My mom told me she saw him come into our laundry room and ended up catching him with a towel and then put him in one of the cat carriers we had laying around. When I got home he was so scared and wouldn't let me touch him without a glove on or he would bite me. After a few days he started purring and became less scared. After a week I could hold him with out any gloves but he was still very skiddish and would hide when someone new came around. Some how I convinced my mom to let me keep him and I was so happy.

How Bradley Got His Name

My mom and I later found out the kitten's mom lived a few houses down the street which happened to be my Uncle's house. My aunt had sent us a picture of the mom and her kittens earlier that month but we didnt't realize it was the same kitten. To this day we don't know how the tiny kitten traveled that long of a distance but we know he was meant to live with us. Since he came from my Uncle's house I thought it would be funny to name him after my Uncle Bradley. It was a joke at first but the name sort of stuck with him and ended up being a perfect fit.

Bradley's Personality

Bradley loves to go outside and he loves to cuddle. He is very adventerous and I often can't find him when I call his name, but that could also mean hes just hiding from me because he likes to do that too. Every once in a while he will come crawl on my lap and fall asleep while I'm sitting on the couch. He is pretty talkative, especially when he wants his treats. He is still scared of new people but after a while he will warm up to them and let them pet him.

Origin Of the Tuxedo Cat Breed

The breed of a Tuxedo is based on the color of the fur of the cat that is a mix of black and white. I did some research and I found out this breed was one of the first to be domesticated thousands of years ago most likely by the Ancient Egyptians. Most of the cats found in the Egyptians tombs were of the Tuxedo breed and it has been assumed they were the first to domesticate them.
