Cook
My most recent profession. Before I worked, I could only wash and cook rice. I'm not a picky eater, but my sisters were and that really upset me when all we ended up eating were macaroni and chicken nuggets. So I'm glad about how I was able to cook. It started with me working at Panera Bread as a Cashier, then a Fry Cook at Raising Canes, to currently a Cook at TopGolf. I hope the word Cook didn't give the wrong message that I was in league with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, because there's a difference between a cook and a chef. Cooks cook the food (no kidding) and Chefs make the recipies. They're like the head honchos. But yeah, as far as food is concerned, I know all about it.
Here's all the food I made over the past few months!
Japanese Curry served with Chicken Katsu
Japanese Curry's the easiest to make. I don't believe in measurements unless you're baking, so I just eyeball the spices and meats to taste. I wasn't planning on posting a recipe but rather a retrospective. Curry's awesome! My bowl consisted of chuck roast, carrots, onions, and a lot of potatoes. Adding the Chicken Katsu was the icing on the cake. I made katsu at TopGolf before, so this was light work. It gives a crispy, tender taste that brightens up the experience.
Breakfast Fried Rice
I've made this dish way before I was at TopGolf, but my skills have heightened. Instead of using a normal frying pan, I picked a wok. It's bigger, easier, and helps with moving the rice around. My fried rice came with day-old rice, bacon, green onions, and obviously eggs. Soy Sauce is a must-have for this as well, cause it fries the rice (hence why it's called fried rice). There's other versions of fried rice, but this is my comfort-food-favorite.
Loco Moco served with Macaroni Salad
Loco Moco, for those who don't know, is a traditional Hawaiian Dish. It comes with ground beef (or ground turkey) patties covered in gravy on top of a bed of rice. And you also need to put a fried egg on top. This has to be my favorite dish in the whole world, and if I was ever put on death row, it'd be my last meal. Having a plate of this with the macaroni salad, plus a bottle of chilled Heineken is simply divine.
