History
Some may wonder how the shallow waters of North Sound in Grand Caymen has become home of mant sting rays. Back decades ago the North Sound became a prime spot for fisherman. This spot was a clean and quite area away from the populated areas normally swarmed with misquitos.
While firsherman were in the area they would dump all the gutted fish and squid overboard. For the Stingrays that was a feast. Overtime the rays caught on that the sound of boat engines was a call for dinner. They took advantage and started to feed the sting rays by hand which overtime formed and became sting ray city.
Swimming Rays
Boats are constanly in the area to bring all the travelers to swim with all of the rays. Visiters hop off the boat and jump right in to explorer to underwater rays. Come try for yourself!
Do Not Fear the Rays
The rays are very friendly and not to be feared. Watch them up close as they swim effortlessly through the water on the search for food. You won't have to look too hard they can get up to a "licking distance".
Family Friendly Rays
Families love coming here together. The rays are used to folks being around them as fisherman and tourist are constanly in the waters. Just remember they will always expect a meal!
