The Grand Hotel was built in 1864 and is regarded as the nicest hotel in Stockholm. It is located right downtown and has a wonderful banquet room, restaurant, bar and lounge area. It is a perfect up-scale place to host parties or mingle. During the holidays, they have a special smorgasbord for Christmas. I recommend at least a night of your visit to rest on their luxurious featherbeds.

This option is for those who want a hip, artistic place to stay. It is a boutique hotel located in the central Östermalm district. The rooms are full of unusual art and contemporary decor. The hotel offers an Asian-inspired restaurant and live music on the terrace bar.

There are many wonderful options via AirBnb. I have personally booked one in the heart of Gamla Stan, or old town, and was just a walk away from many of the bars and restuarants. With this option, you will feel at home.
