Ah yes, CSS…

If I’m not mistaken, Week 11 saw us completing the Sac Writer’s Group site and the introduction of how to create angles using HTML and CSS. The process of the Sac Writer’s Group project seemed to have a great impact on my comprehension of really everything you, Bill, have introduced us to this semester. What I’m experiencing right now is a sense of cohesiveness between the all the lesson content; I am now feeling comfortable and largely confident with knowing my way around CSS and my many options.

Sac Writer’s Group brought it all together for me and I was able to walk through it as if I were going from one room into another until finally arriving in the final room. This learning/work process allowed me to get more familiar with what we were doing. I understand what my options are now and when/how I want to use them, whereas before my head was swirling with all of these “pieces” whirling around me.

I’m pretty sure we had the excitement of learning how to create angles also which was a highlight for me! I’m very appreciative that we got that lesson because design is SO important to me. Having this new toolkit opens up my design options immensely so THANK YOU for this goodie!

Week 12 was Easter (or pc, Spring break lol). I won’t lie, I was grateful for this break! This has been a really nasty semester for me, and it was nice to be able to just breathe for an extended period of time. I was able to reset to center and also be very productive.

I took the time to do a creative project in XD through Adobe so that I could learn the fundamentals of using that application. That was a good idea and I’m actually kind of proud of the piece I made. I then turned around and used that experience to create my XD final site mockup to turn in for class. That was pretty awesome actually; to go away for a short time and come back with a new skill to add to my repertoire. Designing the mockup also meant the start of researching/gathering my assets for my real site; I didn’t realize until this weekend how much work I had already done for this final project. This is an interesting observation that I directly correlate with workflow and time management. It’s extremely helpful to me.

Week 13 finds me really appreciating the time and effort you put into giving us the “real deal”. Teaching us about Git and Github, walking us through what they are and how to use them, etc. so that we will be actually prepared. These things matter a great deal to me and they carry weight. Your demonstation of how Git and Github are used (collaboration, etc.) has stayed on my mind; I am thinking that I may upload this final site there while I work on it for the experience. I think it would be a good thing to do actually.

Things are much more comprehensive now and “settling in”. I know I sound like a parrot, but there was a minute there when I seriously questioned my place in this class. Wherever I am at this point, I’m grateful to have made this progress.

I love drop caps.
