While the markup part was ok, the styling one raised a lot of questions. The very first one was what I should start with. After adding first styles, <del>the process went easier and smoother</del>I got confused even more. Every step of styling was followed by tons of questions. It’s like going back and force trying to figure out how to make it work. Also, I was thinking about how to come up with the right CSS rule, how to deal with padding and margins, especially while adding media query, and how to shrink CSS rules and make the document look cleaner.

Working on the midterm project along with the first version of the Sacramento Writers’ Group page made me realize how much time it takes to code a single page and how much effort it takes to make it responsive.

Week 10

On Tuesday, I learned about a character entity reference chart (https://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/charref), which is another helpful source to know of. Doing a mobile version of the Sacramento Writers’ Group page in class helped me to understand the process of styling better. Right after class, I could style a tablet and desktop versions of this site much faster and easier. However, I’m still curious if I did it the right way.

A field trip to the Studio Coworking Space on Thursday was awesome!
