Been having a lot of health issues and had to leave class early Thursday due to them and before we got to the fun flippy stuff. So, that was a bummer. But overall health is more important. I am super excited for our midterm project and have been LOVING looking at so many photos and ways to design an amazing landing page. Hopefully, I can bring it to fruition. This class has been a challenge for me because I really love making things pretty. And coding isn’t pretty. It’s just not. When you’re on the back-end, you’re not in charge of making things pretty. You’re in charge of making things work. That has been a struggle for me to understand in this class. Once I got over the fact that I wasn’t here to make things pretty, I am here to make things work and learn WHY they work, it’s been better for me. As a designer, you have to fill many shoes and roles. Making something look good is only one of those roles. While some people make a career of this, in today’s world it’s unrealistic to think you can have a job only making things look nice. I’m grateful for the people who made me realize that this class is much more than that! BUT, I am super excited to make something work with code, and design it to make it look good\/function well, too! Here’s to working my butt off to perfect the imperfect. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This week was a little bit crazy for me…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[79],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-255","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-aad-086-sp19"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/255","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/11"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=255"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/255\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":256,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/255\/revisions\/256"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=255"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=255"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/appliedartand.design\/lj\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=255"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
