This week I discovered something about myself: I really, really like grids. \ud83d\ude04 Give me structure, organization, and a place for everything, and I\u2019m happy. CSS Grid was definitely challenging at times, but it was also one of the things I enjoyed learning the most so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
This week we worked a lot with CSS Grid, and I actually enjoyed it much more than I expected. When we looked at designs that \u201cmake\u201d the grid versus designs that \u201cbreak\u201d the grid, I immediately knew which side I was on. I am 100% a \u201cmake the grid\u201d person. I love when everything looks clean, balanced, and organized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honestly, this makes sense because I\u2019m like this in real life too. I like when things have their own place, even inside my drawers at home. Apparently, my need to organize everything has followed me into web design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Grid Challenges were another story. The first few went pretty smoothly, and I was starting to feel confident… and then Challenge 5 happened. That one took me almost an hour! There were so many grid areas to figure out, and at some point I was definitely wondering what I was doing. But when everything finally moved into the right place and the layout actually looked like it was supposed to, it was SO satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also practiced CSS positioning this week. I liked being able to actually see what happens when you use relative, absolute, fixed positioning, and z-index. Moving things around and seeing the results immediately helped me understand the concepts much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In general, this week was challenging, but in a good way. I feel like CSS is slowly starting to make more sense to me. I still have moments when I look at the code and feel confused, but I\u2019m definitely getting more comfortable with it. And apparently, if there\u2019s a way to organize something into a grid, I\u2019ll probably be happy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
