This week, I feel as though my knowledge was definitely tested. I am grateful to have learned so much about flex box and grid, but it did not come without difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
I first learned the basics of flexbox, like using display: flex and then any corresponding properties such as justify-content or align-items. This was incredibly helpful because one tag really can make such a difference and it does help to make creating layouts much easier. I also learned about position: relative and position: absolute. This is definitely something I’d like to learn about further, because as right now it’s still a pretty new subject for me. I had some struggles with the flex box challenges, but was overall proud of what I was able to accomplish without the solutions. I tend to be someone who wants to know how to do everything immediately, but I understand that’s not how it works, so I took a lot of time to figure out as many solutions as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also learned how to use grid this week with display:grid. Grid is something I have never used, but after learning about it and completing the example assignments, I feel better about it. I’m sure it can become very complicated but as of right now, I feel good about it. A highlight of the recent assignments has been the posting of the solutions; something I’m super grateful for. With these, I was able to more easily complete other assignments because I had reviewed previous solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I find that my biggest goals right now are to continue to strengthen what I already know, but also learn how to better work with flex and grid. I tend to overthink how to use each property, but I would like to understand them well enough to feel pretty sure of what my solution should be. I also want to ask for help when I need it instead of being stubborn and trying to figure everything out on my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
