It defines the meaning and structure of&nbsp;web content. It is often assisted by technologies such as&nbsp;Cascading Style Sheets&nbsp;(CSS) and&nbsp;scripting languages&nbsp;such as&nbsp;JavaScript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Web browsers&nbsp;receive HTML documents from a&nbsp;web server&nbsp;or from local storage and&nbsp;render&nbsp;the documents into multimedia web pages. HTML describes the structure of a&nbsp;web page&nbsp;semantically&nbsp;and originally included cues for its appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>HTML elements\u00a0are the building blocks of HTML pages. With HTML constructs,\u00a0images\u00a0and other objects such as\u00a0interactive forms\u00a0may be embedded into the rendered page. HTML provides a means to create\u00a0structured documents\u00a0by denoting structural\u00a0semantics\u00a0for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists,\u00a0links, quotes, and other items. HTML elements are delineated by\u00a0<em>tags<\/em>, written using\u00a0angle brackets. Tags such as\u00a0<code>&lt;<strong>img<\/strong>&gt;<\/code>\u00a0and\u00a0<code>&lt;<strong>input<\/strong>&gt;<\/code>\u00a0directly introduce content into the page. Other tags such as\u00a0<code>&lt;<strong>p<\/strong>&gt;<\/code>\u00a0and\u00a0<code>&lt;\/<strong>p<\/strong>&gt;<\/code>\u00a0surround and provide information about document text and may include sub-element tags. The inclusion of CSS defines the look and layout of content.
