Riverside Yellow

using your craft to build a community

I perhaps started just like anoyone else, with the desire to learn new skills in order to transfer my ideas onto paper. I've been doodling for quite some time but hadn't explored new mediums til a little bit later in life. It started off with my highschool teacher who had left with a a different perspective. If I remember it quite accuratly, it went something like this, "it all starts off with the way you see things." I don't know why, but that really stuck with me. It allowed me to explore new variations and gave me the confidence to try different styles and mediums. From that point on, it was practice, practice, trying new mediums, practice, variations, and of course, more practice. I'd draw on my commute to work, between lunch breaks, while on roadtrips and essentially any spare moment I would get. That's when I started noticing improvements as my drawing style became my own.
