This is an appreciation blog for our adorable kitty Bumpernickle. For our very first post, we celebrate his 6th birthday! We don't actually know his true age or dath of birth [last year our vet estimated that he was about 5 years old].

We met him 4 years ago; the day my husband and I finished our honeymoon and moved into our first apartment. Although it took a little while for us to adopt him as our own, eventually he won our hearts over and he became the first official member of our family.

What's with the name?

I wanted to call him Juniper. It never stuck [and my husband didn't much care for it], he also had trouble remembering it - it kept turning into things like Jupiter. One day Bumpernickle fell out of his mouth and it just stayed. The name even fit his off-beat personality.
