While the game might break a few mirrors when it passes by them, you can fix it with the plastic surgery of gaming, mods. This may not fix the combat and general mechanics of the game, which is pretty terrible and broken. The game is also like old role-playing games in that it can be unforgiving.
Now if you can fix these issues or ignore them you get a game with an great story and what could only be called a "unique" setting. There are many different factions to join or to remove from power in Morrowind. There are many quests, as each faction has expansive quest-lines along with many quest dotted throughout the world.
