Prodigal Son Overview

To summarize, the Prodigal Son is a parable about a father who has two sons. Both of the sons work for their father on his property, but then one day, one of the sons asks the father for his share of the inheritance. After receiving his inheritance, the son leaves home to spend his inheritance on a lavish yet sinful lifestyle. When the son uses up all of his inheritance, and realized he had nothing, he went back home to beg for his father’s forgiveness so he could work for him again. Despite the resentment of the other brother towards the brother who left, their father welcoms his son back home.

How is the Prodigal Son Parable Relevant to PSArc?

Characters in our member page reflect the son who left and his willingness to struggle if it means getting back on track. These characters are not always a favorite because they are not charismatic heros that bleed righteousness from the get go. Instead, these characters go against the scariest obstacle known which is oneself. The internal conflict is something that is avoided out of fear and denial. Confronting the monsters who lurk inside of us, takes courage that often goes unrecognized.
