Consider Why Declawing is Necessary

Think about why you want to declaw your cat. Declawing is a permanent procedure that can greatly affect a cat in many ways. It's not a good idea to go through with the surgery unless absolutely necessary.

Behavior Issues

The main reason people want to declaw their cat is because of bad behavior, such as clawing furniture and scratching at people. However, there are other solutions besides this one to help a cat behave. Though, not as easy a dog to train, it's still possible to teach cats what behaviors are good and bad.

Health Concerns

The best reason, and possibly the only reason to declaw would be for a health related issue, such as a tumor in a claw.
