What is InuVasion?

When I was 15 years old, I decided that I wanted to write an animated television series based off of Japanese animation, or anime. The resulting idea was InuVasion, a roughly 26 episode series that I am currently working on.

Plot Summary

The InuVasion was an attack on Japan by the Dog Spirits in 2042; the Spirits were angered by their cruel treatment of animals, canines in particular, and decided the humans needed to be taught a lesson. A second strike happened 20 years later, however this attack was led by a Spirit who had chosen the path of darkness. His goal was to eradicate the humans of Japan, whom he loathed. When numerous refugees sought peace in America, he followed them.

It is now the year 2075. A survivor of the 2nd InuVasion, Kurojaki Komatsu, is now 17 years old. He is a prodigy police officer living in what used to be San Francisco, now the capital of California, Hantou no Tokai or "Peninsula City." There is a barrier around the city that expells dark energy, therefore keeping the evil Spirits out. It has become a safe haven for former Japanese citizens and American citizens alike.

One day, Kurojaki is suddenly attacked by a Dark Dog Spirit who has been trapped inside the barrier since its creation. He is then aided by a good Spirit, who explains to him that he has now been Marked. As a result, he receives wolf-like ears, a tail, eyes that change color with his emotions, and the ability to turn into a Dog Spirit himself. He must be careful, though, because his negative emotions can trigger his transformation unintentionally, and make it easy for him to lose control of his actions.

He must use his newfound power to resolve the tension between humans and Spirits, but he can't do it alone. His friends are there to help him on his quest... and cause some trouble of their own along the way.
