Welcome to my Portal Page
The following projects have been created as a way to explore front-end Web design and development.
Main Course Projects
-
My First Page
This assignment was a great way to get our feet wet with web design. We learned to organize our files in a Master Folder that included a Source Folder for images and graphics, and a Root Folder for everything that will make its way to our webpages and sites. We created headers with relevant heirarchy, an ordered list, and added an image that included alt text.
At this point we did not incorporate Cascading Style Sheets, or CSS, into our designs, we instead relied on simple inline styling such as the em tag to make our words bold.

Squint Studio Build Along
The Squint Studio Build Along is a guided web design challenge that is ongoing. Each week we deepen our knowledge and enhace our skills. We began with the bones of web design that includes the unseen head tag and the body tag that is on full display, divs that are then assigned ids to allow us to treat individual elements differently and classes to allow us to change elements consistently across multiple pages. This time we got to imporve our sites presentation with the use of CSS.

Final Project: The Soman
The Soman is my final project for this class and a future goal of mine. This project gave me the opportunity to brainstorm and use the HTML and CSS knowledge I have gained throughout the semester. Completing a lengthy web design project that included understanding the coding languages feels amazing and has given me the confidence to keep learning and improving on my web design and development journey.
