Main Course Projects

• My First Page

  This was my first project where I was introduced to basic HTML and CSS. During the process I learned how to navigate around the DreamWeaver interface, how to properly organize my files, and became familiarized with beginner HTML and internal CSS coding. This project was an excellent introduction to web design since it helped establish my coding foundation.

• Squint Studio Build-Along

  This next project was created as a build-along website from the guidance of my Introduction to Web Design professor. Not only did this site help me build upon and refine the basic skills I developed from my first project, but this project also introduced me to building multi paged websites. With that being said, a big part of this project was learning about internal and external linking. This includes linking pages on the same site, links to external sites, and linking to different locations on the same page.

  Another key learning point from this website build was learning about and using external CSS. My last project used internal CSS, so this site was good experience in using external CSS within the DreamWeaver interface.

• Final Site

  This site was my final for the class where we were able to create our own website about anything. For my final site I decided to make a portfolio page where I can show all of my creative art pieces and also tell a little bit about myself.

  This site allowed me to create the vision I had in mind to represent me and my work. During the process I went through a lot of trial and error trying to figure out what works best for my ideas. And through that I developed stronger understandings on how to appropriately write HTML and CSS. I refined my usage of tag selectors and CSS rules. And when I started to become more comfortable, I was able to solve my own code problems with ease. Overall this site was a great test to exhibit all of the experience and knowledge I gained through my past builds.
