Welcome to My Course Project Portal Page
The following projects have been created as a way to explore front-end Web design and development.
Main Course Projects
-
My First Page
This project was our introduction to file management and coding HTML documents. After downloading the Adobe Dreamweaver web design software application we became familiarized with the interface including the document window, document toolbar, and panel groups. We learned some basic HTML elements including basic HTML tags and selectors and linked a visual asset (a selfie) to the document file. We also learned the basic syntax of CSS and applied internal CSS to the document file. Then we uploaded the finished HTML file to an online server.

Squint Studio Build Along
The Squint Studio build along project was a seven week long project. First we walked through the "Site Set-Up" process when introducing Dreamweaver to a new Website. After setting up the homepage file, index.html, we added structural elements and content to it. We added in placeholder images to show the layout of the website and learned that this is best prectice when the final content is unavailable. Next we followed the build along instruction on how to set up portfolio.html and about.html. We then learned about the linking process and linked the individual pages together. We also added links to the email content. Finally, we replaced the placeholders with optimized visual assets, linked to an external stylesheet, and styled the HTML pages.
We utilizid best practices for creating usable and accessible links.
