Hi, my name is Daniel.

Hello, everyone!

It is my intention to, with the coding skills I'll undoubtedly acquire throughout the course of this semester, gradually build up a website or online portfolio where I can share both my artwork and skillsets/experiences with visitors, such as future employers. I might also potentially create a shop or gallery where I can sell my art/services!

There is just way too much in this world to be infatuated with, so much so that trying to jot down just a simple few of my favorite passions, of which stand amongst the vast-ocean that is my interests and hobbies, is a daunting task indeed! Nonetheless, I have been forced to constrict this ocean of intrigue to a mere handful of my favorite "worldly" passions, to which I will summarize in stating that these things/activities consists of, firstly, art; it is a way of defining the world as the individual artist sees it through visually striking, hand-crafted imagery. Art is just so intriguing to me personally, not because of anything as deep as what has already been mentioned, but because it is a fantastic visual stimulator...and because invoking emotion with or without meaning through a mere image is just so divine. Whether it be ancient artifacts (Peruvian textiles and Jōmon pottery are among a few of my favorites,) or modern contemporary, there is so much art out there to be discovered, analyzed, critiqued, and collected; it is a way of learning that language cannot compare to, and it is through it that we are able to glimpse into present-day concerns, as well as past beliefs, cultures, etc. Moving on then, of course writing is another great interest of mine, as I'm sure you can tell, since it plays hand-in-hand with art (I promise not to rant about this one). I'd also say that nature is just a true inspiration to me; hiking, biking, or just admiring it from afar in awe - nature is simply the best, there is no other way of saying it. Coastal views, lush forests, all of it is fantastic and I deeply wish to spend most of my time on this planet near or within them. As a final note, I'll say that the enjoyment that sparks fourth from all of these things increases ten-fold when they are done alongside friends and family, although there is nothing quite like some refreshing alone time when it is needed!

I am SO excited to learn about Web Design!

The top three things I would like to learn in this class are:

  1. How to create a website from the ground-up with HTML (lucky me!)
  2. How to individualize with CSS.
  3. Retain learned knowledge / information to move forward with and build-up.

I'm ready to get started!
