Museums
The Potocki Palace in the style of French classicism and the neighboring exposition building of the Lviv Palace of Arts with the huge columns serve as a representation of a photogenic ensemble of buildings with a cultural filling. There is also the Museum of Modernism next to the Potocki Palace which has seven exposition rooms.
Cathedrals and Churches
One of the most popular locations for tourist is the Latin Cathedral. It is an architectural monument of several eras at once, which was originally built as Gothic, but was completed in the Baroque style. Another church that impressed me personally is the Armenian Cathedral which has An unusual three interconnected courtyards with the old tower connected to it.
Historical Sights
You can take a look at the exquisite interior decoration of the Lviv Opera House, which is the favorite historical monument of townpeople. But to get a better understanding of this sight, you should buy a ticket and enjoy a performance there. Also don't skip a chance to climb 408 steps and enjoy a beautiful city view from the observation deck of the Town Hall
Food
Best Bars
MAD Bars House is a five-story building with the concept "the higher you go, the stronger is the drink". They serve beer and seltzers on the first floor and vodka mixes on the fifth. Дзиґа is an Avant-garde bar that hosts various expositions. Last but not least is Sino Experimental, a quiet and cozy bar that supports sustainability
Street Food
Lviv has a rich street food culture and one of my favorite places is Doner Кебаб. It is a small kiosk that sells kebabs and shawarma. Another place is a heaven for vegetarians who have no time to eat at home. It is a kiosk called Salalad that sells a variety of salats and salats only. Also, you might visit Americano shack and grab a burger there.
National Dishes
One of the most popular places is Криївка. The chain of restaurants that go under the logo "Emotional Restaurants".It represents a Ukrainian gorilla hiding during World War Two and to get there you need to know a code word. Another restaurant with delicious Ukrainian food is Ukrayinsʹke Podvir'ya which has your favorite borsch, salo, and pierogi
Transportation
Moving around Lviv is not difficult: all the most interesting things are located within a walking distance. A leisurely stroll with stops at city coffee shops is the best way to get a feel for the atmosphere of the city.
Taxi
There are several taxi services operating in Lviv, the most popular of which are Uber, Bolt and Uklon. Their prices are almost the same: on average - from 50 UAH
Trams
It is more convenient to get to the center by tram. Routes No. 1, No. 2, No. 6, No. 9, No. 10 connect different parts of the city and the center, where all the movement takes place. A ticket costs from 8.5 UAH (online) to 10 UAH (on the spot) for one trip, it is sold at the Lvivelectrotrans, Interpress kiosks and from the driver. As in other cities of Ukraine, minibuses are very popular in Lviv (travel costs 10 UAH, regardless of the distance).
Bicycles
Bicycles and electric scooters can be rented in the city. A bunch of options are available now - Bolt, Kiwi, Easy, Electro Lviv and others. So it will not be difficult to find transport in Lviv in spring and summer - as soon as the cold leaves, the "two-wheeled" ones will roll out into the street. Exploring the city will be even more convenient (however, outside the center - you won’t ride on the cobblestones for a long time).
The Best Stays
DREAM Hostel Lviv (vul Krakivska, 5) is a large hostel in the European style in the center of Lviv. Like its counterparts in other cities of Ukraine, the hostel is cozy, bright, clean and international. On the ground floor of the building is Druzi Cafe, which has a huge menu that includes breackfast, lunch and dinner. The building is a recently restored architectural monument of the 18th century.
GHOSTel (st. Copernicus, 9). A mysterius and antique interior which gives a vistor an opportunity to spend an evening by the fireplace. The kitchen, however, is modern and does not fit into the concept at all - but this is only for the better.
Old City Hostel (St. Berindi, 3) is an old house a two-minute walk from Rynok Square, where you can spend the night on a budget and quite comfortably.
!Fest Hotel (Lemkivska str. 15a) is a modern democratic hotel within walking distance from the Old Town. The price for a standard room starts from 1300 UAH.
!Gruner Lviv Boutique Hotel (Generala Grigorenko Square, 5) is a solid apartment with an unobtrusive design and a gorgeous view from the window near Franco University. There is a coffee machine in the room.
Tips
How to stay safe
To stay safe traveling around all the time, it is important to share your location with someone trusted. Let your family and friends know what are your plans for today and keep in touch with them all the time. In case of danger, they might notice quickly and react before you get hurt.
How to secure your belongings
To protect your belongings it is better to leave your suitcases in the hostel language keeping rooms, at the hotel room or even at the bus stations where they have separate rooms for storing them. It is safer not to draw the attention of random people walking around with suitcases. Secure your purses wearing them crisscrossed on your shoulders and take a backpack in front.
How not to get in trouble
Always carry around pepper spray and a fully charged phone. When planning to drink, make sure to have little contact with strangers, rather trust the bartender. Let everyone know that your friends know where you are and don't tell strangers where you are staying
