About Doctor Peake
Raised in beautiful Nevada County, I am grateful to be back amongst strong, healthy community and am excited to have the opportunity to serve the members of this community who have shaped my life in such a positive way.
Growing up in this area and attending a Waldorf school really put me in touch with the importance of family, community and health on a deep level. Growing up in a rural environment also introduced me to many outdoor sports such as climbing, skiing and biking that I participate in regularly to this date. After graduating from Nevada Union high school, I left for Santa Cruz and the Bay Area where I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science. It was upon graduation and moving into the workforce doing construction that I realized the impact that human health has on the health of the world.
After a deep dive into living minimally and climbing as much as possible, I had a conversation with Dr. Dale who led me on the path of chiropractic. It took only the slightest convincing from Dale before I was signed up for chiropractic college and I was set on path of which would fill me with joy and I would never look back.
Philosophy
Dr. Evan bases his work on the fact that the human body is a self-healing organism and that every living being has an Innate Intelligence that governs all aspects of life. Healing and progression of health is possible when the nervous system is at ease and functioning properly. We understand the importance of the nervous system when we look at the anatomy and function of this complex system of nerve- Both the central and peripheral nervous system (which consists of our brain, spinal cord and nerves exiting the cord) control every cell, function and emotion in our body. We know that when this system is at ease, we see full expression of life and we also know that the body recognizes the importance of the central nervous system because it is the only organ in the body that is entirely encapsulated by bone- this being the skull and spine which house the brain and spinal cord. This is why, as Chiropractors, we look to restoring the function of the spine!
So, to break it down more simply: mental impulses coming to and from the brain control our entire body and reality. If there is any restriction to these impulses, there is a distortion of information being communicated. If the joints in the spine and other parts of the body are not functioning properly, then information will not be transmitted properly. This is why you will experience a “pop” of the joint when you visit the Chiropractor. The “pop” or as we call it “adjustment”, is allowing better transmission of mental and nerve impulses and enlivening all your senses.
The Chiropractic adjustment can therefore lead to resolution of pain, headaches, acute and chronic injuries as well as increased joint mobility, brain function and a better connection with your body and a restored appreciation for life!
Testimonial
I found a synchronicity with my body that I had never before when I started getting regularly adjusted by Dr. Peake. There’s something about the holistic approach that triggered a welcome change in everything from my movement to the way I sit and work.

I was surprised when Dr. Evan asked to see me after helping me heal from my lower-extremity injury after a skiing accident. The difference I experienced while under regular care was amazing. I no longer believe in seeing a chiropractor only when injured. I have had less pain and less injuries, as well as improved immunization and mobility. This affects my moods and my appetite for life. Thank you Dr. Evan!
