The main idea to keep in mind is that entering ketosis involves a switch in our bodies' primary source of energy. We are already very adapted in burning glucose (which comes from sugars and carbohydrates) because we consume high amounts of it. By restricting carbs and increasing fat consumption, our bodies go through a process of adaptation, learning to burn fat more efficiently and entering the state called ketosis.
