About Me
hi everyone! my name is Marina (✿◠‿◠). here, you'll find a brief introduction on me before we dive deeper. for one, i love spending with my friends (see photo on left). friendships, and relationshps in general, are especially valuable in our lives as they take part in forming our character.
moreover, i enjoy cooking. in the middle image, you may see pistachio cream pasta 🍝. i find cooking to be relaxing, rewarding, and a great way to bring people together. for this reason, i often cook for my family as a way for all of us to reconnect.
lastly, i have been an artist since i could remember 🎨. to the right, you will find a recent painting of my own 🖼️. i have experimented with various media in art, ranging from charcoal to guache, and have found myself to enjoy drawing and painting the most!
Travels
one of my most frequent activities of last year (2023) has been travel ✈️. travelling is a gift that has allowed me to not only explore the world in a literal sense, but also understand how people have operated in differing cultures throughout time.
from left to right, the images depict London, UK., the Grand Canyon in Arizona, as well as Vienna, Austria. these locations were the highlight of my previous year, and i am incredibly grateful to have visited multiple states and countries outside of where i currently am 🌼.
Heritage
lastly, i want to highlight my own heritage and place of origin, Armenia. having been born there and visited Yerevan (the capital) last summer, i have become more and more invested in my identity over the past years.
prior to moving to the U.S., i had lived in Armenia for nearly 9 years. the Armenian language, culture, and history are dear to me because they highlight our resilience and strength throughout the centuries. being one of the oldest countries in the world, and the first Christian nation at that ☦️, Armenians are able to showcase their unity through survivals of genocide, persistent massacres, and religious discrimination that exists to this day.
being Armenian is one of the most important aspects of my identity that i value beyond anything else ⛰️.
