How I began baking for Keto
I first heard about keto when my grandmother told me about it. I was intrigued because she lost a lot of weight, but you had to keep a very strict and not fun diet. Shortly my whole family on my Dad's side joined in on keto and we were the last ones left. They all started dropping weight like crazy and they were more energetic than they've ever been.
After a few years, my Dad finally said he wanted to be on keto to try to lose weight. I decided to support him by going on it as well to try to help him keep on track by having another person in the household on it. After a few weeks we started finding recipes for things that we never thought we could make on keto, especially baked goods.
Now we practically have normal Thanksgivings and Christmases, with delicious pies, cakes, brownies, cookies. We also bake bread and bagels to help us when we don't want sweets. We use a combination of monkfruit sweetener, almond flour, and coconut flour for our recipes. We can either use butter or coconut, and we use a lot of cream cheese.
